Pumpkin Carving ContestPUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST

We will have a Pumpkin Carving Contest with an award of three $25.00 prizes to those 3 Carved Pumpkins selected as Best.  Get your Pumpkin, decide on a Design, Carve it, add battery-operated lights if you wish (no candles, please) and bring it to the Office to be Photographed, Registered and Displayed.  Each entrant will receive $3..00 to help defray the cost of his/her pumpkin.

Winners will be announced at our Costume Party on Sunday.

Enter as many Pumpkins as you wish!!!

The Safari Rec Hall will be open for games or just “hanging out”.

They can be scheduled Saturday 10/12, Sunday 10/13, Monday 10/14.  We will hope for 25 per day and that not all will wait for the last day.  Remember, while our camping program ends on Columbus Day and the office will be open irregular hours thereafter until 10/20, all seasonal campers will be free to come in to complete winterizing & close-up through Sunday October 20.  After 10/20, the gates will be locked, water & electricity will be off and it will be necessary to call (401) 568-8890 after dark to arrange for an appointment for entry.

 

11 p.m. All Quiet on Sites – Please. no unnecessary walking about after 11. It is very disquieting to those wishing to sleep. Thank you.

12 Midnight – All Campfires Fully Extinguished

Campfires are allowed only if they are contained within a ring of stones; Flames are never more than 12 inches high; They are never left unattended; And are fully extinguished by midnight.

Come to Safari Rec Hall and decorate your Halloween Trick or Treat Bag.  All Kids Welcome – While our supply of Bags lasts.

 

SPECIAL EVENT

 

HAUNTED HAY WAGON RIDES

– Begin when the sun goes down and last until every one has had a ride..

Costumes are not required for the riders but they will add to the fun, so wear a costume if you like.

HAUNTED HAY WAGON RIDES

– To ensure every camper gets a ride we will use tickets, available at the office. (no charge)  Ticket holders will go to the head of the line.

 

 

7:30 p.m.    FREE HALLOWEEN BINGO

Safari Rec Hall – Play before and after the Haunted Hay Wagon.  Our Bingo Lady is certain to entertain you!!!

 

11 p.m. All Quiet on Sites Please, no unnecessary walking about camp after 11. It is disquieting to those wishing to sleep.

12 Midnight – All Campfires fully extinguished.

 

BATS & BALLS, FRISBEES, BASKETBALLS, HOOPS, STILTS, HORSESHOES, PING PONG PADDLES, PUZZLES, ETC. ON LOAN AT OFFICE. And Browse our Free Lending Library for something to read. Ask for hiking trail maps.

7:30  p.m. Our ANNUAL OLD FASHIONED HALLOWEEN COSTUME PARTY – All Ages – Safari Rec Hall – Costume Prizes for all categories.  Games & Relays with Prizes.  Donuts, Apple Juice, Coffee, Bags of Treats and our D-J will make it a great last event of the Season.  Because we have a limited number of occupants for our size hall, all persons who enter, both child & adult,, must have a costume.  Thank you.

12 Midnight – All Campfires fully extinguished.

 

Monday, October 14 2013  COLUMBUS DAY

 

COFFEE WILL BE ON IN THE REC HALL.  Stop by to say Goodbye and give us one last chance to thank you for being one of those special people known as a Bowdish Lake Camper.
