Memorial Weekend 2020

Beginning this coming Memorial Weekend we will resume allowing weekend and longer stays.

We are sorry that we cannot allow tents at this time. All units must be self contained since our bathrooms are still closed.

We are not able to have any planned group activities due to the social distancing requirements.

All campers must wear face coverings and practice social distancing until further notice. Please check this web site for latest updates. Notice rate for weekend camping below.

RATE CHANGES FOR THE 2020 SEASON.

Due to the added costs associated with Covid19, we now meter electrical usage on all sites for this year and going forward. All transient campers will be required to pay a per-night deposit to cover their electrical usage. Also such deposits shall be $10 per night for any unit up to 30 feet in length, and $20 for units over 30 feet.

Any unused portion of the deposit shall be refunded.

We would prefer that debit cards be used for these transactions.

The electrical rate for transient (non-seasonal) campers shall be .50 per kilowatt hour.

PARKING

There is No Parking in empty sites or along roadsides, at any time, for any reason. We must keep the roadways clear for emergency vehicles, therefore there can be no exceptions. Also, because someone may get to their assigned site only to find it blocked by parked vehicles, we cannot allow this rule to be ignored.

2020 Camping Season

Hi again everyone,

The Town Council for Glocester has just met and agreed to mirror their covid19 regulations with the state

So that now means that I can officially welcome you for the season. Still seasonal campers only at this time. Sorry for the delay, but Thursday nights is when they have meetings.

Now just because they are opening things up, that does not mean they are relaxing the rules. You must social distance, do not associate with more than five people per day and always write down who they are. Always wear face coverings and gloves when off your site or except when you are in your car or away from the dock driving your boat.

The bathrooms, rec halls, playgrounds and even the office are closed until further notice.

As I told you last posting, I did break my arm and I would ask you to be patient with me. I have had a few problems getting the water system going in all areas, however I do believe I will have it all up running by tomorrow afternoon.

If any of you experience problems, please call the office to let me know.

Hopefully, the credit card machine will be up and running by Friday, mid-day.

If you wish to stay overnight you may, but only if your fees are paid in full.

It is not predicted to be a great weekend weather-wise, with snow expected Friday night and 28 degrees for a low Sunday morning. We’ll see how hardy you all are!

Update 2020 Camping Season

Hello everyone!

The state has at long last given us permission to open, although I have to let you know there are lots of restrictions

For starters, it really is for long term stays (seasonals) only and really only so that seasonals can use and enjoy their second or vacation home.
For now, all facilities in the park are to remain closed until further notice. That includes the office, bathrooms, rec halls and playgrounds.
You will be allowed some recreational activities but you must observe social distancing guidelines without fail. I will have zero tolerance for anyone who disobeys the rules, and you will face forced eviction to rte 44 without refund if you fail to comply.
So for now, come to your site with your day’s necessary provisions, get it cleaned ready to go, and make the best of the summer.
This allowance is subject to weekly changes and can be revoked at any time, so just accept it and deal with it. This is clearly an unusual situation which we have no control over. Welcome to the new reality.
You must respect the health of our employees. Always wear personal protective gear when dealing with them. Try to do as much as you can over the phone, email or website.
Denise will be in the office this weekend from 9 – 6 both Saturday and Sunday. You must go to the side window for service, stay 6 feet apart if there forms a line, and wear PPE mask and gloves when dealing with her.

Have a good summer and keep checking the website for updates.

Camping Season 2020 Update
Hi to everyone.

Hope you all are well and obeying all the directives relating to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to some of you on the chatter site:

I get a cut of all the fines imposed on violators of government directives.
I receive personal updates every day no less, from Governor Raimondo

NEITHER OF THESE ARE TRUE!

The fact is, I know little more than the rest of you. What I or we get, we get from the news.

Camping Season 2020 Update – THE FACTS ARE THAT THERE IS A STAY-AT-HOME ORDER IN EFFECT UNTIL MAY 7TH. That means that no one should even think of going to the campground until then.

We are working diligently to get the park ready in time for the start of the season. Hopefully the stay-at-home order won’t need to be extended and we can get the season going.

As we get closer to that date, I will inform you of what conditions, if any, are imposed on us at the time of opening.

In the meantime, stay safe.

Camping Season 2020 Message

Hi everyone I hope all of you are well or at least better than me.

I have been sick for most of the month of February and am sorry if some of you have received your camp bill a little late. By now most of you have received your camp bill. I would ask that you follow the instructions on the bottom and send your payment in.

Some of you have made payments recently that may not be reflected in the latest bill. Simply calculate those payments when figuring your bill.

Those of you that have paid nothing face possible eviction, therefore if payment is not received promptly, your trailer and belongings will be removed from the site.
Winter Storage ends on April 15 and anyone who is just storing needs to be out by that date.

Camping Season 2020 Message The camp will open this year on April 30th, and the office will open on the weekend before from 8 to 5. Only those who have paid in full for the season will be allowed to drive into the park. Please do not ask me for special treatment and expect to be allowed in earlier.

I have received many cards and notes from many of you that you are counting down the days and can’t wait to go camping!

Hope to see you all healthy in the Spring.

Tax Bills From Glocester

A message from John Tillinghast

I have investigated the subject of Trailer Taxes and wish to pass this on to all of you who may have an interest.

1. If your trailer is located any in part of the BROWN section or RED 6-32 and RED 48-66, or the GREEN section 1-7 and 26-29, or ORANGE section 55-80, you are in the Town of Burrillville and not subject to Glocester taxation.

2. If you pay excise taxes and they are current you do not have to pay twice

simply make a good copy of your paid tax receipt and send it in to the Glocester Tax Office. If she wishes, it is up to her pursue that tax money from the Town you paid the Tax.

3. Rhode Island is phasing out the motor vehicle Tax. If you wish to register your vehicle in RI you will probably get the cheapest Tax.

You will need to establish dual residency if you are out of State by having a P.O. box, an address (use the campgrounds) and, I understand, show that you receive some sort of bill at that address and that should be sufficient.

If you decide to pay the tax to Glocester you automatically are a resident of the Town and are allowed to vote at any of the financial meetings. You should exercise that right.
