Seasonal Camping in RI at Bowdish Lake

Seasonal Camping Rates

Seasonal Camping is our main focus.
1. The fees for a seasonal site depend upon a number of factors.

2. We prefer to charge only for those options you choose to take advantage of, rather than charging one flat rate for everyone.

3. The camping season runs from Memorial Weekend in May to Columbus Weekend in October.

4. The base fee for a site depends on the individual site. Site size, location and hookups have an effect on the seasonal camping rate. A site on the lake, for instance, is more expensive than a wooded site. A site with a sewer connection is more than one without (We do offer pump-outs for a small fee).

MAXIMUM TRAILER LENGTH 35 FT

WE WILL NO LONGER ACCEPT TRAILERS MORE THAN 35 FT IN LENGTH. However, Over-sized trailers that are already here are grandfathered.

Base Fees for Sites:

Seasonal Price ranges from about $2000 to about $4600.  (Yes, there are some sites more expensive and some sites less expensive.)  Optional Extras (such as extra vehicle, golf cart, dogs, boat, boat trailer, etc.) are charged separately.

Electric Charges:  In 2019 we changed from charging a flat rate for electricity to meters.  Accordingly, each seasonal site will have an electric meter and be charged according to usage.  There is a deposit required, and a minimum charge per month. Check at the Office for more details.  Additional information on how to anticipate your electrical needs can be found here.

All sites have water and electric. Most sites are 30amp, although some are 50amp. Some sites also have a sewer hookup.

FOR THE 2024 SEASON WE ARE ONLY ACCEPTING SEASONAL CAMPERS AND NOT ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE ANY SHORT-TERM OR “WEEKENDER” CAMPING.

Refund Policy

  • Seasonal campers are required to pay a 10% non refundable deposit to hold a site.
  • All requests for refunds shall be in writing and be subject to approval.
  • Inclement weather shall not be deemed an acceptable reason to expect a refund.

We recommend you stop by the campground and drive around so you can pick out some sites you like.  Later we can tell you exactly what that site will cost for the season.  The campground does not open for the season until May.  With this in mind, before driving up, it is recommended that you call ahead to be sure someone will be there and you can get in the gate.

While our campsite map shows the arrangement of the campsites, the color areas on the map do not indicate the type of site.  Approximately 300 of those sites are currently reserved by seasonal campers and therefore are not available.  Don’t worry though, there are a lot of sites that are still available.

Bowdish Lake Camping Area is essentially a facility to accommodate families who want seasonal camping at a facility that is well-maintained and wholesome in character.
