Memorial Weekend 2016

WITH MOTHER NATURE’S HELP, THE WEEK-END WILL BE FUN!

campfireCAMPFIRES: Campfires are allowed only if they are contained within a ring of stones, flames are never more than 12 inches high, they are never left unattended and are fully out at midnight. This fire regulation must be strictly adhered to in order to protect our environment,  If you forgot the makings of S’mores, we have them in our store. For those of you who enjoy singing, try a-capella.

SPORTS EQUIPMENT: Bowdish Lake has lots of opportunity for your favorite sport or just good exercise, on loan at the office. Ask to borrow bats & balls, basketballs, volleyballs, kick balls, horseshoes, stilts, hoops, Frisbees, etc. Ask for maps of the miles of hiking trails in the State Forest that surrounds us. A good place to start is a walk around Wilbur Pond. (Or browse our lending library!)

11 AM to 1 PM — RED CRAFT HOUSE OPEN

2 PM — The POW SCIENCE GROUP

AT BEACH REC HALL

Will present a fun program: LEGO – Zip Line.  After constructing Lego figures, Kids ages 7 and up will be able to send them on a fast ride on a zip line.  Sounds like fun?  It is!

Appropriate for kids turning 7 and up.

Even seasoned Lego Veterans will love the simple but innovative Zipline Runner we’ve designed for this party. Each participant will build their own Zipline Runner, and zzzZZZZIP them down the line at high speed! Young Engineers will then divide and conquer, building a Straws & Connectors Tower that reaches up, up -and over the Zipline, creating a tunnel for Zipline Runners to fly through!

Did we mention that as a bonus building project we’ll make and spin the World’s Easiest Lego Battle Top? Less than 10 seconds to build! Incredible spin times!!

Unlike our other themes, most of the time during this party the kids are up and moving around the room excitedly. This party tends to be a little noisier than our other party themes, and we welcome fun-spirited parents who want to join the action and help keep the Zipline Runners Zipping!

ADULT SUPERVISION INVITED.
