ASTRONOMY NIGHT

September 2010 was the first time for Family Astronomy Night at Bowdish Lake.

George Huftalen is one of a great number of amateur astronomers who monitor the night sky, doing the work of watching and reporting that the professional astronomers can't do alone.  He shares his enthusiasm for the night sky with groups all around the Rhode Island and S.E. Massachusetts area hoping to inspire others to look at the stars and dream.  His program is both entertaining and educational. 

Great fun for kids and adults alike!

RULES OF THIS EVENT:

This is a quiet, nighttime family activity in the dark. Therefore, for safety and consideration of other campers:

1. This event will run from 9:00 to 11:00 PM;
2. All children must be accompanied by an adult;
3. Bring a flashlight and a blanket;
4. No running, loud voices or yelling;
5. No touching the telescope…it has gears running to track objects and may be damaged; and,
6. Look up and have FUN!
